Organic SEOs

With there being a plethora of ways in the digital age to market, it is no secret that technology has aided companies to be able to breakthrough in ways never before seen. With the addition of social media, a simple Tweet can turn a company from a virtual unknown to one of the biggest companies in the world. This affects countless industries but has a huge effect on the fashion industry. Known for being fast-moving and cutthroat, the fashion industry is always evolving. However, even though the internet is fairly new, search engines have been around for a while now. With the invention of search engines, many companies pay to have the spotlight on the first page of websites such as Google.

Although this is a good way to get a companies’ name out into the interweb, Organic SEOs are still one of the surefire ways to gain a good spot in these search engines without having to spend the amount of money used to purchase the coveted first spot in Google.

What are Organic SEOs?

SEO stands for search engine optimization. More specifically, organic SEO is optimized search engine operations that are not bought. To do this companies have to rely on tried and true methods that have been around since search engines have been popular. This is very beneficial because it is less expensive than paid SEO. In addition, it is a very organic way to grow your brand rather than relying on money to buy everything. Overall, more companies would benefit greatly from organic SEO.

Organic SEO matters because a staggering 75 percent of searchers don’t even click past the first page of results. If you’re not ranking highly, you guessed it — your website won’t get any traffic, which means your site will struggle to bring sales and leads to your business.

Companies also need to pay attention to organic search engine optimization because users rely on search engines to find what they need. Over 90% of online experiences begin with a search engine, like Google.

Importance of SEO’s

According to moz.com SEOS are important for three distinct reasons. They supply organic search results, quality of organic traffic, as well as quantity of organic traffic.

According to a range of studies, they have found that unpaid search results lists are more relevant than paid ones. A consumer can always tell which advertisements are paid on Google because they have the word AD next to them. Consumers tend to skip over these types of search engine results and continue to move on to the next one. Organic results do not have ads next to them as they follow a completely different online algorithm. As a result, one could not pay for their page to rank higher than the other pages, which in the long run is a better indicator of page success than just paying for your spot.

Organic traffic has far better quality than paid traffic. If someone goes to your site organically, they know exactly what they are searching for which isn't always the case when the ads are specifically paid for. This is very important because organic SEO leads to more retention from consumers, and also leads to more brand loyalty.

SEO’s and the fashion industry

The fashion industry benefits from SEOs very much. However, statistics.com had some very interesting information about what people search on these search engines.

“This statistic presents the most popular online fashion search keywords in the United States in the second quarter of 2018, sorted by organic value. According to Pi Datametrics, the most popular online fashion search keyword during the second quarter of 2018 was "swimsuits", which had a total organic value of 3.38 million. Coming in second was the keyword "dress", which had an organic value of 3.22 million.”(Statistica).

This tells us a lot about both SEOs and the fashion industry as a whole. First and foremost swimsuits being number one comes as no surprise for anyone who truly knows fashion. People are always finding ways to relax, and it just so happens that beaches are one of the most popular ways to do so. With millions of people going on vacation a year, it is no secret that swimsuits would be the number one searched thing.  This also shows that many companies focus on the wrong things.

Many brands such as H&M and Zara put more of a focus on their high-end fashion pieces, which in reality, are not even the most sought-after type of clothing that they can provide. In addition to swimsuits being number one, dresses are number two, followed closely by bathing suits. 2 of the top three search engine results have to do with the female demographic. In an industry in which a lot of the focus is placed on males, it is interesting to see that females make up some of the most searched items on the web. Overall, this is just a glimpse of what makes SEOs so important. Brands can pinpoint what makes them the most money, gets them the most clicks, as well as makes the most sense to market to the masses.

Conclusion

As demonstrated before, organic SEOs are one of the major keys to running an online marketing campaign. They are way more beneficial than non-organic SEOS because they hold more value than the consumer, and the consumer can make a more memorable impression with the company. In addition, people trust organic SEOs way more than inorganic ads that are normally seen on search engines such as Google or Bing. With every company knowing this, it is not out of the realm of possibilities to see more companies switch to the more organic types of SEOs. with them being less expensive, more beneficial, as well as making a more lasting impression, it just makes sense to move in that direction. In the future, it will be interesting to see how many companies adapt in that way.

  1. According to an article, I have read that having a user-friendly website is the most important thing because people won’t stay on the site and browse the fashion product if it is not easy to use and clear. Then, to have a good SEO foundation of the website is the second most important thing. Companies must include keyword research, title tags and description, products descriptions, images, and backlinks. After the foundation is done, the company should use an SEO tool like Google Analytics to help the process of research, optimization, and user tracking. Using an SEO tool helps a company to stay on-trend. The fashion market moves fast and so It is important to track what content or products the consumers like the most.

  2. When it comes to SEO, most people think it's all about keywords and where to place them on the website in order to get the link up in the search engine. What is often forgotten is that there are other factors that come into play such as page loading speed, accessibility of product pages, visibility of call to action buttons or readability of the font. To this must be added the complexity of Google's algorithms (Google Panda, Penguin, Caffeine, Hummingbird, Pigeon, etc.) which change regularly. This is why it is important to always keep an eye on the SEO of a website.
